The English Cemetery Málaga.

The English Cemetery lies on a hillside very near the historic centre of Málaga. More than 1000 people are buried within its 8000 square metres; the majority inclouding its founder, are British but there are also Spanish and Americans, Danes and Swedes among other nationalities. This Cemetery has an Anglican church.Originally, an isolated plot of land on the road to Velez, today the cemetery is surrounded by blocks of apartments and the hustle and bustle of a modern city, but it still retains a sense of peace.
Some people buried on the English Cemetery are:
- Jorge Guillén: a spanish poet.
- Violette Pautard.
- William Mark: founder of the English Cemetery and British consul.
- Marjorie Grice-Hutchinson: an economist and writer.
- Gerald Brenan and his wife Gamel Woolsey.
